I went to the Cake International exhibition at London Excel centre at the weekend and everything looked so amazing I had to have a go!
I definitely need some more practice… Watch this space!
For my latest project play session I decided to throw a little Easter Party. It’s early, but it’s my last session before easter, and there are just so many fun easter themed craft ideas that I love!
I went to a local party shop and went mad on their easter stock!
So I’ve been wanting an infinity dress for aaaages, but they are so expensive, and seem to only come in Bridesmaid-ey colours. I decided to have a go at making one myself, but to make it a little easier for myself I started off attempting a top. I love it so much, and it was surprisingly easy, so next week I’m going to attempt a maxi dress!
Ok so I have to start this post with a confession… I don’t have any photos of this banana loaf whole. I got too excited and ate a ‘small’ portion before I remembered to take some snaps.
So I haven’t been able to do anything remotely worth blogging about for a while because I have an exam next week and am trying to revise. On Saturday while I spent the entire day with my head in a psychiatry text book, Thor spent the entire day in my bed. As in head on the pillow, under the duvet.
Shoulda been a cat, not a doctor.
So an amazing friend of mine set up a volunteer group who go into the local hospital 3 times a week to entertain and play with the children who are stuck on the wards. I’ve been a part of this for several months and was recently given the opportunity to take on more responsibility, and start planning and running sessions. It’s actually insanely fun. The kids that we have at these sessions are aged from 0-17, have a variety of abilities, from being bed bound or paralysed to running, screaming and jumping all over the place. This not only makes the sessions challenging, it makes chosing activities for the kids pretty tricky! We always try to have a bunch of activities to suit different abilities and ages and interests.
I’d seen a ton of posts about making canvas art using melted crayons, and I just had to give it a go! It seemed so simple and easy, even I could do it.
It turned out ok… I like what I made but definitely something I need more practice with!
